Traditional Green Tea is prepared by soaking the leaves in hot water, usually in a tea bag. Matcha is different. Young tea leaves are ground up whole, giving you all the intense health benefits. Koyocha Matcha gets its potency from its growing and harvesting process.
Four weeks before harvesting, the green tea fields are completely shaded. This filters out up to 90% of the sunlight. The plant compensates for the lack of light by producing intense chlorophyll.
