Stress Relief with Matcha Tea

We all experience stress and anxiety from time to time, whether is due to a stressful lifestyle or a traumatic event.

Managing stress is essential as it can lead to more serious physical and psychological disorders. Along with a vegetable-rich diet and regular exercise, daily consumption of matcha tea can greatly reduce stress and anxiety while still providing energy, alertness and focus.

The way that matcha is cultivated and grown, increases the levels of L-Theanine, an amino acid found in Camellia sinensis (Green Tea Plant).

L-Theanine has been proven to have a major impact on stress and anxiety. Some studies suggest that L-Theanine boost the dopamine levels in the brain which then help to increase serotonin, also known as the happy hormone.

Further research shows that L-theanine stimulates alpha-wave activity in the brain within 30 or 40 minutes of being ingested. This fosters a state of deep relaxation and mental alertness.

Fortunately Matcha also has a high content of caffeine which paired with L-Theanine provides a calm alertness and sustained energy throughout the day.

Overall Matcha naturally reduces anxiety in 4 ways:

1.It provides minerals and vitamins that can help with nutritional deficiencies which may cause stress and anxiety

2.It fights overactivity in the brain by releasing L-Theanine and boosting beneficial brain-activity such as alpha-waves

3.It boosts serotonin levels through the increasing of the neurotransmitter dopamine.

4.Fights inflammation in the brain, which has been associated with depression and anxiety.
